Outlook Tips
If
you regularly email someone with a long name, type the first few letters of
their name when addressing an email. When Outlook underlines the name with
the red squiggle, right click and choose the correct name. The next time,
you can use the same few letters and Outlook will complete the full name for
you.
When
you have the same person in the Global Address book and your Contacts, when
you type in the name of this person, Outlook will either use the Global
Address book address or the Contacts name depending on the setting on the
Addressing Tab of the Services dialog from the Tools menu. To control this,
use = before the name for the Global Address or - before the name for the
Contacts.
If
you use the Reading Pane to read email messages then try this. Press the
Spacebar to scroll through the message, and onto the next one or Shift
Spacebar to go backwards. To re-arrange the Reading Pane, choose the options
from the View menu.
When
addressing an email message to multiple addresses, press Enter between each
one. When you move to a different part of the message, Outlook will
automatically separate each name with a semi-colon.
If
you want to display more than one Outlook folder at a time, try opening one
of them in a new window. To do this right click on the folder in the Folder
List or the Outlook bar and choose Open in New Window. Click on the X to
exit the window when you have finished.
