What this course will do for
you: You want to create
professional-looking diagrams to enhance the information you give to your
clients or colleagues. This course will give you the skills to use Visio to
create any type of diagram far more effectively and powerfully than before.
You will learn how to save time through the use of Visio stencils and
shapes by simply dragging and dropping shapes onto a drawing page. You will
be shown how to use connectors and glue to quickly construct complex
technical diagrams. By using hands on sessions, with data relevant to your
work, this course will show you how to produce diagrams for your work both
quicker and better.
To get the most out of this
course: You don’t need any previous
experience of using Visio but you should be reasonably confident in general
computer use and want to design effective diagrams.

To
rotate shapes by small amounts rather by 15 degrees at a time, move the
mouse further out from the shape when you drag with the rotate handles.
To
quickly see the whole page, press Ctrl W. To quickly get back to whole page
view, press Ctrl W
Hold
down the Ctrl and Shift keys together and click to zoom in. To zoom out,
hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys and right click the mouse button.
To
quickly activate the Pointer Tool when you have been using another tool,
press Ctrl 1
To
type in an exact measurement for the size of a shape, click on the left hand
side of the status bar at the bottom left of your screen. This reveals the
Size and Position dialog box where you can type the exact measurements.
